It is a lot easier to get a feel for a person if you are talking face to face. Remember, if this person you are booking is a photographer, coordinator, videographer or dj you will be spending a good chunk of one of the most important days of your lives with them, choose wisely. That being said, consider you and your fiancé's personalities when choosing vendors. If you are both super outgoing you may want someone who can match your energy or you might not want their personality to over crowd yours. Or if you are both more shy you may want someone who can encourage you to come out of your shell or make you feel comfortable. Consider these things after your consult and decide if you would enjoy spending the day with that person.

You may have a good idea on what you want out of a certain vendor and it is always good to make sure all of your initial needs are met. Another good way to separate vendors and choose a favorite is to ask them what they think sets them apart from competition or what they feel is the most important thing they do to ensure your day is the best it can be. You may be surprised by the answers!

This may seem obvious or if you are already following a vendor you may have a good idea what you are getting but get in there and creep! This will also give you a great idea of what their end product looks like so you can make sure you are happy with what you would be recieving. Highlight reels on Instagram are a great place to find additional services a vendor offers or can just help you feel like you are getting to know them a bit. I always try to include snippets from my personal life on my business accounts so that my clients can really get to know who I am. I think this helps us to create genuine things to bond over or talk about during the planning process!

There are many other ways to choose a vendor but these three are some of the most important ones I see over and over again when talking and booking with brides. I always have the mindset that I want to book with people that I genuinely think vibe well with me and my style. No one wants to get to their wedding day and feel like they made a mistake on who they booked, so take your time, and choose the right one!
